Keystone Research Solutions offers a research assistant work-based learning opportunity. This is a remote opportunity — you take part over the Internet from your home at your pace within a time frame we coordinate together.
In this opportunity, you would be assisting live, professional level science and humanities research projects that have requested volunteer help from the public. These projects are on the Zooniverse citizen science platform, along with the Eterna and Foldit molecular biology projects. (We have no special connection with these projects.) While assisting them, you will be documenting your work on our company collaboration server, to build up a written work record that we can endorse.
You would perform some of the work activities of a research assistant. Depending on the research project, you might make observations; perform analysis and data entry; estimate quantifiable characteristics; identify objects or actions or events; break down information into separate parts; categorize information or tabulate data; or transcribe information from one medium to another. You write about what you did, and communicate with others through that writing. You gain skill through first hand experience.
You do not need prior experience in research or in a subject area. This opportunity requires reading and writing in the English language, time management, attention to detail, and initiative. It also requires communicating by email, and working live sessions over the Internet.
